CEDAR – THE PLANT
Scientific name: Juniperus Virginiana. Description: Long-lived tree (lives over 100 years) almost 30 m tall, of the Cypress family. Origin: North America. History: Ancient reports of the construction of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem from cedar wood!
CEDAR – THE “ORGANIC” ESSENTIAL OIL
Technique: Extracted from the trunk of the tree, by steam distillation. Odor: Woody, similar to Sandalwood. Color: Pale yellow or orange and sticky texture. Country of origin: United States of America
PROPERTIES
Antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, relaxing, insect repellent.
USE
Cough, cold, fever, bronchitis. Effective in urinary tract, kidney and vaginal infections. Widespread for stimulating circulation and treating problems caused by standing (edema, especially in women's calves). Fights cellulite, acne problems and clogged pores. Soothes joint and muscle pain. Effective against dandruff. In aromatherapy, it relieves stress and tension and enhances self-confidence, inner energy and mental concentration. Insect repellent for flies, mosquitoes and other insects.
COMBINATIONS
With essential oils of Eucalyptus, Patchouli, Citronella, Sandalwood, Rhododendron.
